Let’s Wrap it Up! Here is what we are serving on 1/2/13

Our last message for 2012 and I hope you are all having a wonderful restful break from the demand of this hectic world.  I certainly enjoyed some R&R with family and friends, and as such, had a chance to create some delicious visions for this coming year!

I already sent out an invitation to spend 3-weeks together in a cleanse/reset program that will release the unwanted weight/habits from the holiday season.  I hope you take advantage of this super offer.  Just RSVP for one of our orientations on 1/14, or 1/19.

Next, we are introducing our gourmet Protein Wraps, as promised.  Just $4 and filled with at least 20 grams of protein to give you a bit “more” in your meal than just a soup or salad.  Please let us know what you think!

Carrot n Date Bisque NEW!! Thank you Chef Shafer, of the Depot (downtown Torrance), for sharing this delightful treat.  It will ease you into better quality eating for the new year.  Light, tasty and creamy.  Let’s enjoy.  This will include dairy, but I promise to keep it light!   

3plus Bean Salad Three Plus Bean Salad!  Our bean salad includes green beans, kidney beans, garbanzo beans, roasted corn, white and green onion,bell pepper,  and parsley in a sweet n tart dressing. Would be an excellent stand-alone side or a great topper for your green salad!  About 150 calories per serving.

Protein Wraps Protein Wraps! We heard you, and therefore, are providing a whole-wheat tasty protein wrap to fill your tastebuds!  Simply delicious! This wee, try our Herby Chicken Wrap with home-cooked roasted chicken, rosemary seasonings, local spring greens mix, green onion, parsley, bell pepper, couscous, and lemon-aoili spread, all rolled in a 6-inch whole wheat tortilla. About 300 cals/serving and served fresh and tasty!

 

 

Garden Green Salad Garden Green! Our BIG green salads are fresh, seasonal, and diversified with a variety of veggies, protein, fiber and flavor!  This week’s salad includes:  sunflower seeds, carrots, apple,  kidney beans, bell pepper/parsley/green onion, red onion, green peas, celery, grapes, and tomatoes, with a home-made balsamic dressing.  (less than 220 calories/container).

Natural Protein Bars!  Our protein bars are getting rave reviews.  Handy, tasty, healthy, and chemical/preservative-free (so much better than the commercial ones that stay on the grocery shelf for a year!).  Each bar contains 16 grams of protein and only 180 calories.  This is a great snack/breakfast solution for busy day. Soup Calendar: 12/17 – 12/21

 

Kale n Bean Soup Kale n Bean Soup! This is a perfect soup for fall/winter.  I love foggy mornings, and this soup will fill your soul for breakfast as well as the other meals.  Deep balanced flavors of squash, kale, fire roasted tomatoes, white beans, leeks, and seasoned with fresh rosemary, thyme and Serrano chili.    

Calico Salad Veggie Calico Salad!  This is a zucchini salad with black beans, corn, bell pepper, green onions and a little avocado.  All coated with a zippy limey dressing.  Colorful and good for you!

Split Pea Soup Split Pea w/ Ham Soup! Another personal favorite for this time of year.  We make it creamy and smokey, just like Mom made it!  Did you know that split peas have the following health benefits, high fiber, lowers cholesterol, and high in potassium.   

Oriental Slaw Oriental Slaw!  It’s raw, with a delicate sesame dressing. Cabbage is mixed with green onion, carrots, bean sprouts, toasted sesame seeds, almonds, bell pepper, jalapeno, and cilantro. A nice low-calorie side or snack at 70 calories per serving.

 

Hummus w/ Pomegranate! Simply delicious! Lemon, garlic, cumin, and home-cooked chickpeas.  Perfect balance and texture topped with a sprinkle of brightly flavored pomegranate.  Served with a stack of celery, it makes for a flavorful and healthy snack filled with fiber, protein and joy.

Tortilla SoupCalifornia Tortilla Soup – NEW!!  I’ve been craving a good Tortilla Soup.. and we are finally gonna do it!  Prepared by our trained chef, LIZ, it’s guaranteed to soothe (and feed) your soul!  A rich chicken broth with a variety of vegetables.  We include a bit of chicken and avocado to round out the savory flavors and texture.  Instead of bread, we will include some baked corn tortilla strips.  About 220 cals/serving.  Please request NO-CHICKEN by Saturday.  

Holy Kale Salad!  Kale never tasted so good!  We combine finely chopped kale with a delicious  sweet-spicy-peanuty-ginger- tamari dressing. Topped with a few almonds and cranberries. You’ll want more than one serving of this healthy side!!  About 150 cals per serving.

 

Red Pepper Soup Red Pepper Soup! This soup is a favorite of many of our Souptarians! It contains a  ton of roasted red peppers, garlic, onions, spices, organic half n half and chicken broth.  We’ll provide a toasted almond topper, unless you request otherwise.  About 180 cals/serving.   

 

 

Quinoa Pilaf Quinoa Pilaf!  Kinda sweet, nutty and tart, with nuts, currents, green onion, basil,  and parsley with a vinaigrette dressing. Perfect for this time of year and certainly worth trying!  It’s about 150 calories and contains plenty of protein from the quinoa.

Healthy Pesto Dip NEW!! Home-made pesto is a powerhouse of flavor and nutrition:  basil, parsley, Parmesan cheese, garlic, walnuts and olive oils.  Our blend incorporates a bit of of legumes to keep the fat calories down. (about 250 calories/container).  Served with carrot sticks!
