Celery Bisque Celery Bisque!  Simple classic flavors that should be savored!  We blend leeks, celery and potato,  into a smooth gratifying puree and lace with creme friache,  lemon,  parsley and a touch of cayenne.  Let it fill your taste buds.  About 200 cals per serving.

 

 Smokey Beans n Kale! Beans n Kale This recipe has been handed down to me from an admired foodie.  So it has to be good!  Heck, it  has bacon in it… so no doubt!  Home-soaked white beans simmered with kale, onion, garlic, red pepper flakes, and bacon.  You get that southern feeling?  I do too!

 

 

Kenya Curried Soup!  Kenya Curried Soup Perfect blend of spices and texture .  This soup is a bit sweeter than a Dahl, and boasts flavors including tomatoes, kale, black-eyed peas, corn, bell pepper, sweet curry flavors, and coconut milk. This will be a new soup for many of you since its been a long while since we cooked it up!.  Be adventurous! Lot’s of taste and will fill you up at 250 calories per serving.

 


Thai CucumbersThai Cucumbers! Spicy, refreshing and will leave you wanting more!  Sliced cucumbers, red onion, mint, and cilantro, with a spicy dressing, and topped with slivered almonds. Only about 60 cals/ serving and a great light alternative to a sweetened vinegar!

Argentina Dip!  Argentino DipIt takes a bit more effort, but it’s really good! Lemon, garlic, cumin, and fiber-filled chickpeas.  Includes a bit of chili, thyme, cayenne, onion, and even cinnamon!    Served with a stack of cucumbers, it makes for a flavorful and healthy snack filled with nutrients, protein and joy.

PROTEIN WRAPS! Roasted Veggie WrapThis week, try our tasty and healthy Roasted Veggies n Chicken NEW!!  We will fire-roast zucchini strips, bell pepper, onion, garlic and blend with roasted chicken, bulgar and a flavorful spread.  All rolled with romaine and/or a flour tortilla.  Can request no chicken by Saturday.

Handy, tasty, healthy, and chemical/ preservative-free (so much better than the commercial ones that stay on the grocery shelf for a year!).  Each bar contains 16 grams of protein and only 180 calories.  This is a great snack/breakfast solution for busy day. Soup Calendar: 9/23 – 9/27

Turkey n Rice SoupClassic Turkey n Wild Rice Soup!  I want to kick off Fall with  a turkey soup that will knock your socks off!  This is a classic recipe, but I have modified it to keep the calories in check.  There is turkey, celery, mushrooms, parsley, carrots (not shown),  brown and wild rice, dairy and herbs. I’ll add (gasp) a few  bacon crumbles to give it panache.  About 230 cals per serving.

Amish Slaw Amish Slaw!  To offset the richness of the soup, you may enjoy this low-calorie best-slaw-ever! There is no mayo in this dish, so it can last (and improve) for weeks!  Includes onion, a bit of carrot, and an outstanding marinade!  (less than 90 calories per serving)

   

 

  Yam n Greens SoupAfrican Yam & Greens Soup!  This soup has a wonderful ethnic feel to it. Brothy with a bit of chili powder, garlic, curry, and yellow miso paste.  (no rice in our version)  About 100 cals per serving

CauliflowerFennel Soup Roasted Fennel and Cauliflower Soup! This smooth, soothing soup will not only warm your taste buds, it will cure your gastro ailments.  Fennel provides an excellent source of potassium, vitamin C, and fiber. In addition, herbalists refer to fennel as an intestinal antispasmodic that relieves intestinal spasms or cramps.  This is a vegan, low-calorie, delicious meal!  About 160 cals per serving.

Carrot Bean Salad Green Bean & Carrot Salad!

It may sound bland, but it is really really tasty and fresh!  It includes some crunch of red radishes, red onion along with freshly blanched carrots and green beans.  Our zippy marinade and toasted sesame finish off this low-calorie treat.  (80 calories/serving).
   

 

Pizza Soup!  It’s got an Italian zip, with more!  A thick soup with pureed zucchini and onion, a richness from a bit of Italian chicken sausage and extra veggies! Kinda like a soup version of a pizza without the cheese or bread!

Toasted Rice Soup Toasted Rice Soup!  Amazing taste with toasted rice, spinach, onions, lemon zest, and a hint of nutmeg in a vegetable broth.  I’ll include some Parmesan cheese as a topper to make this a SOUPer delight!   (200 calories/serving, inc the cheese).

Apple Slaw Apple Slaw!  Back by request, this is such a fresh change for a summer salad.  This sweet-spicy slaw has no dairy, but instead fills the senses with sweet-tart vinaigrette, apples, broccoli slaw, dried cherries and toasted walnuts.  This is really delicious!   About 125 cals/per serving

   

 

Greek Lemon Greek Lemon Soup!    It’s got that greek thing going on… lots of lemon in a vegan- chicken broth base.  We will add some chick-peas, veggies and egg yolk (for richness).  A favorite of many soupers! Only 125 calories per serving!
